John's and Katharine's Wedding Chest
This project started out to be a chest in the style of a New Engalnd wedding chest known as a Hadley Chest. 20 or 30 of these survive built in a distinct style in Hadley Massachusetts. They were made from about 1680-1720. But John and Katharine said they needed something a little more utilitarian so we went in the direction of a blanket chest. But I liked the panels in the Hadley chest so we kept those and the ornamentation went toward something that is more personal to them
